BREAKING NEWS; BLACKBERRY stops Making Phone!

Breaking News!!!!!

•Blackberry finally bows out of the phone market!

Producers of Blackberry phones have technically bowed to the superiority of other phone companies across the world which has sidelined it in the technology market.

The former smartphone giant Blackberry has said it will no longer manufacture its own devices. Instead it intends to outsource hardware making to development partners, although the core focus of its business is firmly on software services at this point.

After 14 years in the mobile phone business, embattled phone maker, Blackberry has announced that it is no longer going to design its own smartphones.

The company, which is famed for its "Qwerty" keyboard mobile phones that were the choice handset for professionals, has been struggling to keep up with market leaders Apple and Samsung as the world has moved to touchscreens.

As a result, the loss-making business said it is going to focus on creating software for mobile phones, rather than the devices themselves.

MUST READ; TODAY'S NUGGET

*TODAY'S NUGGET*

*IF YOU ARE ONLY LOOKING OUT FOR YOURSELF, LOOK OUT*

Is your favourite letter "l"? Listen: The cause of most of our problems is "I", no matter how we spell it. Change your favourite word from "I"  to "You".

The Truth is, no one makes it on their own. There is nothing quite dead as a self centred man - a man who holds himself up as a self-made success, and measures himself by himself and is pleased with the result.

The man who lives for himself is a failure. Conceit makes us fools. The book of proverbs remind us, "Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him."

*The best way to be happy is to forget yourself and focus on other people*.
The bigger a man's head gets, the easier it is to fill his shoes.

*The only reason pride lifts you up is to let you down*. A swelled head always proves there is plenty of room for improvement. Even postage stamps become useless when the get stuck on themselves.

Egotism is the only disease where the patient feels well while making everyone else around him feel sick. It blossoms but bears no fruit.
Those who sing their own praises seldom receive an encore.

Try to cultivate the habit of thinking of others; this will reward you. Work together with others. Remember the banana: every time it leaves the bunch, it gets peeled and eaten.

Heavy burdens are made lighter when everyone lifts.
Selfishness always bring its own revenge.

A MUST READ; What Is Your Goal Worth?

*WHAT IS THE QUALITY OF YOUR DREAMS??*

It's OK for everyone, anyone, even you to claim to have a dream. After all Martin Luther King did.

Well, just be careful to know whether it was a result of night rest. This is because anyone who is possessed by a true dream, we mean men who actually transformed their generation will tell you thus:

*I've got a dream that's worth more than my sleep.*

I just wish that dream of yours keeps you awake at night, it will awaken your passions and turn those dreams into goals backed with action.

The end result of your dreams is to create value and make you expensive.

*TODAY'S NUGGET*

*IF YOU DONT DECIDE WHAT'S IMPORTANT IN YOUR LIFE, SOMEONE ELSE WILL DECIDE FOR YOU*

Your destiny is a matter of choice not a matter of chance. Many people have the right aims in life, they just don't get around to pulling the trigger.

Weeds grow easily on the soil of indecision. The trains of failure run smoothly on the tracks of indecision. Until you are decisively committed, there is hesitancy and the chance to draw back.

A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two is never quite sure.

Leaders have wills not wishes. The weak are always forced to decide between alternatives that others have set before them, not ones they've chosen for themselves.

Make your decisions don't follow public opinion. Results and success follow commitment and decisions. Decisions are what transforms an idea into reality.

DAILY NUGGET!!!

*TODAY'S NUGGET*

*GIVE BIRTH TO YOURSELF*

Do you want to stand out in the world? Then be your self. Be what you really are.

You and I are born equal but also different. Avoid following the crowd. Be an engine not a caboose. It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.

Average people will rather be wrong than be different. Dare to be different. Follow your own star. Conformity is the enemy of growth and satisfaction.

The more you develop your potential, the less you will become like someone else. Trying to be like someone else is self defeating.

The book of Romans says, "God has given each of us the ability to do certain things" we can't reach our destiny taking another man's road.

Do not follow where the path may lead - go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
You can't be common. The common go nowhere. You must be uncommon to be a champion.
No man can be ideally successful until he has found his place. Like a locomotive, strong on the track but weak anywhere else.

TODAY'S NUGGET

Good Morning all, enjoy

*TODAY'S NUGGET*

*DONT STRIKE WHEN THE IRON IS COLD*

Dont be a person who says, "Ready! Ready!! Aim, aim, aim." As fast as each opportunity presents itself, seize it.

No matter how small the opportunity may be, use it.
Do what you need to do when it ought to be done whether you like it or not.

Everyday comes to us bearing gifts.
Untie it's bow, tear into the wrapping, open it up.
You tear into gifts, you don't romance into them.

Tear into your opportunity.
Seize the bull by the horn.
Never pet opportunities.
Write on your heart everyday that it is the best day of your life.

Successful leaders have the courage to take action while others hesitate.
Don't find yourself striking when the iron is cold.
Instead, scratch opportunity when and where it itches.

Life is made up of constant calls to action.
*No opportunity is ever lost; someone else picks up those that are missed*

Time flies; it's up to you to be the pilot.

"Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits" (Thomas Edison).

Life's alarm clock has no snooze button. Be ready now.
*There is no time like the present and no present like the time*

Work hard in silence let success make the noise.

Matthew Hassan Kukah, Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, SLAMS President Muhammadu Buhari

                                                                  Kukah Buhari

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to build on the achievement of former president Goodluck Jonathan rather than play the blame game.

Kukah, who spoke with reporters at the Catholic Bishops Conference Dinner Night held at the International Event Centre, (DOME) in Akure, Ondo State, said that Buhari was not voted into power to complain, but to work on resolving Nigeria’s economic woes.
The Bishop said, "the previous government did not only do bad things; he did a lot of good things".
And I think the business of government is not our business; our business is if the previous government did bad, that is why we voted a new government.
We did not vote a government to complain about yesterday. If we wanted yesterday, the new government would not be there. It is really about taking responsibility.
No matter how much you praise or abuse Jonathan, he is not the President of Nigeria. I think that people (PMB) must understand that you take power to solve problems not to agonize.
As the head of a family, no matter how bad things are: no food in the house; you as a father cannot enter the house crying.
It is the question of developing the mechanism, else you can’t solve the problem.
Even my best friends in APC now realize that nobody can sing the song about Jonathan being responsible for the problems we are in.
We are not asking you to change the whole world, but Jonathan created problems: we are now riding a train between Abuja and Kaduna now; the train was not there before.
Things that Jonathan did that can help Nigeria, let us continue with them.
The bad things that Jonathan did and those who deserve to go to prison should go to prison.
But sending people to prison will only be useful if it puts bread on the table of people”.

***In responding, the Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has replied his critics who accused him of handing over a nation at the verge of collapse to his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking with Friends of Africa Coalition at the Mayor’s office in New Jersey, Jonathan recounted the achievements of his government to include, handing over a country that produced the richest man in Africa.
Jonathan said, “I am proud to say that while I took over a Nigeria that was the second largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $270.5 billion in 2009, I handed over a Nigeria that had grown to become the largest economy in Africa and the 24th largest economy in the World with a GDP of $574 billion.
“I inherited a Nigeria in which the trains were not working, and handed over a Nigeria in which citizens can safely travel by trains again. I inherited a Nigeria that was a net importer of cement, and handed over a Nigeria that is a net exporter of cement.
In 2009 the richest Nigerian was the 5th richest man in Africa, but I handed over a Nigeria that produced the richest man in Africa.”
The list continues.....
Also according to Senator Shehu Sani (APC senator) representing Kaduna Central; "Nigerians are not asking APC/Pa Buhari to fix the problems of this country any longer; they are asking APC/Pa Buhari to fix the problems they caused between May 2015 and now..."

Spot The Difference Between Patriotism and Psychophancy!

"Between the Critics of Government and Career Sycophants

The worst tragedy in a man's life has to be Stockholm Syndrome, embracing a system that victimises you and allying with it to counter fellow victims who have chosen to rebel against oppression and amplify political transgressions.

I just read an atrocious piece by someone who, tempted as I was to offer this advice, is already too old to return to Primary School for proper understanding of Civics. In it, he describes critics of Buhari's government as bedfellows of corruption and ignorant of social dynamics. He even went as far as denying the discipline of economics, that admitting that our social reality has changed is "ignorant", that the poor man in Ajegunle is still what he used to be. Because he was too silly to look up the word "inflation" in his dictionary. This is a typical middle-class insularity, and tradition of a people who don't even know what a "mudu" is, let alone know the price of a mudu of Garri today, compared to prices of the previous years.

Sadly, these are the species of citizens who are friends with, or even in, government. They apply such sycophantic and cruel thinking, that criticising the government is a mischief, into their affairs and planting it in the subconscious of those expected to redeem our conditions.

Criticism of government is as old as politics itself, and it's not done to dishonour the rulers but to challenge them to deliver as they promised. It's only in Nigeria that reminding a government of things it promised to do, is criminalised. Countering those who remind the rulers of their electoral promises is a diseased mindset. What's expected from the government is explaining its indecisions that confuse the people, not antagonising them.

The politicians are not doing us a favour. They are there to serve as our servants, which is why their service is renewal at intervals. They are not patching roads and rehabilitating structures with their personal resources. It's what they are elected and overly pampered to do.

Praising a government, to me, means recognising moments it fulfils electoral promises. But making what an elected politician does with our taxes look like a humanitarian service is sycophancy. I assess the government critically because, as unaligned citizens, the elected politicians are meant to be our employees.

What's happening in Nigeria today is, when a critic points to a snake the politicians were given power to hire able hands to kill, he's asked to tell the government how to kill it. And this, unfortunately, is the mentality of the "Ran ka ya dade" brigade stationed to defend our politicians. The critic highlights shortcomings to get the government's think-tank ticking. You can't be in possession of a fire extinguisher and ask the man who alerts you to fire, to quench it for you!

If a leader expects more from critics after being shown a flaw in his idea, he's either incompetent or his lieutenants are due for the sack. The similarity between a critic and a politician is, both have ideas. The difference is what matters. Only one has access to the Treasury.

The new song of this legion sycophants is, praising and supporting the government uncritically is the ultimate patriotism. See, to love your country more than its government is patriotic. To love your government more than your country is partisan.

Spot the difference." - Gimba Kakanda.

BREAKING NEWS! Buhari has lost his memory or is badly misinformed

"Buhari has lost his memory or is badly misinformed"– Femi Fani-Kayode

Reacting, former Spokesman of ex- President Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode, took a swipe at President Buhari, saying that the president had either lost his memory or was badly misinformed for telling Nigerians that he inherited nothing from the PDP administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking exclusively with Vanguard, Fani Kayode noted that President Buhari had in the last one year and three months, brought nothing but chaos, destruction, division, fear, deaths and shame to Nigeria compared to the PDP governments he was ridiculing.

His words: “It is obvious that President Muhammadu Buhari has either lost his memory or he has been badly misinformed. If you look at the state of the country in 1999 when former President Olusegun Obasanjo took over and compare it to what it was in 2007 when he left office, you will find out that there was not just development but also a miraculous transformation in every sector; that is what Obasanjo managed to achieve and I am very proud to be part of that government and part of those legacies.

“After Obasanjo left, Umaru Yar’ Adua took over and then came former President Goodluck Jonathan. As far as I am concerned, Jonathan built on Obasanjo’s legacies and foundation and he took us to yet another level.

“If you compare Nigeria in 2015 by the time Jonathan left to 1999 before Obasanjo came in, you will have to thank the PDP for lifting this nation up and taking us from strength to strength. By the time Jonathan left in 2015, we had the largest economy on the African Continent and the fastest growing economy in the world, among other things.

“In one year and three months, all of that have been destroyed by President Buhari and his APC, we are now back in the dark ages. Every sector in the country has been destroyed and everyone is complaining.

“President Buhari has brought nothing, but ethnic cleansing, recession, abuse of power, persecution, genocide, chaos, destruction, division, fear, death and shame to Nigeria and they have no other way of running the country, but to intimidate the citizens and threaten them. That is his own legacy.

“It should also be noted that a large number of people that supported Buhari in his quest to become the president, last year, were all originally from the PDP, whether the PDP governors, who decamped or PDP ministers who decamped or PDP legislators who decamped, 70 percent of people that helped to put Buhari in power used to be PDP including former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; former speakers Aminu Tambuwal, Aminu Masari; Umar Ghali Naaba; former minister of the Federal Capital Territory and governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El- Rufai; Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Segun Oni; Danjuma Goje; Aliyu Wammakko; Rabiu Kwankwaso; Murtala Nyako; George Akume; Senate Leader, Ali; former PDP national chairmen, Barnabas Gemade; Audu Ogbeh, among others.

“When he insults PDP legacy and said that nothing was ever done by PDP in 16 years, he is insulting those 70 per cent that put him in power starting with Obasanjo and I think that this is most unfair and very ungrateful of him.”

iPhone 7: Everything you need to know about apples new jet black iPhone 7 and wireless airpods

Everything you need to know about apples new jet black iPhone 7 and wireless airpods

By Tyler Toner

The iPhone 7 is officially here, and while many of the new device’s features had already been leaked on social media, it became clear during Apple’s presentation this morning that the sum really is more than its parts. Introduced at an Apple event this morning at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller presented “the most singular, most evolved presentation of [the iPhone] design” yet. Schiller highlighted 10 new features found in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, spending a bit of time highlighting each.

Beginning by highlighting the design, Schiller introduced the new glossy “Jet Black” and more matte “Black” finishes, as well as the re-engineered, force sensitive and solid state Home Button that integrates with Apple’s new Taptic Engine. Perhaps the most exciting design feature for users, however, is the fact that both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices have been completely redesigned with water and dust-resistant enclosures.
Schiller then moved on to demo the impressive new cameras for both devices. The new iPhone 7 camera features optical image stabilization, a wider aperture to let in more light, a high-speed sensor, new true-tone flash, and a new image signal processor. As expected, the iPhone 7 Plus features two 12 MP cameras – one featuring a wide angle lens and one featuring a telephoto lens, allowing true optical zoom up to 2x and software zooming up to 10x, as well as the new ability to take photos with a shallow depth of field for stunning portraits. As Schilling pointed out at the end of his demo, the new camera on the iPhone 7 Plus is the best camera ever created for a smartphone, and will likely be, for many users, the best camera they’ve ever owned.

Third on the list was the Retina HD Display, that Schiller claimed to be the best on any smartphone. The new display is 25% brighter, and features a wide color gamut with cinema standard colors, as well as the 3D Touch layer.
The iPhone’s speakers were next on the list, with both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus featuring stereo speakers with a huge jump forward in audio quality. Both phones feature speakers on both the top and the bottom of the device, providing the user with twice the volume and improved sound quality with an increased dynamic range.

Probably the most controversial aspect of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has been Apple’s decision to axe the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack found on every previous version of the iPhone (and iPod, and almost every other audio-capable device in the past hundred years). Schiller pointed out during his presentation that only Apple has the “courage” to make such a bold move, and that the “ancient, analog, single purpose” 3.5mm connector simply took up too much room in such a small device packed with so much new technology. Included in the box with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be Apple’s brand-new Lightning-enabled EarPods, as well as an adapter for users that prefer to use their own devices that utilize the traditional 3.5mm connection. What Schiller failed to address, however, is the complaint that users listening to music on Lighting-enabled headphones won’t be able to charge their phones while listening – a sacrifice Apple seemed willing to make when designing the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

MUST READ! The Rights of Every Electricity Consumer in Nigeria

Many Nigerians do not know that they have certain rights as electricity consumers in the nation.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the body empowered to meet the yearnings of Nigerians for stable, adequate and safe electricity supply, has taken the bull by the horn by releasing to the public, the rights of every electricity consumer.

Read the rights below:

1. All new electricity connections must be done strictly on the basis of metering before connection. That is, no new customer should be connected without  meter first being installed.

2. A customer who elects to procure meter under the Credited Advance Payment for Metering Implementation (CAPMI) Scheme must be metered within 60 days, after which the customer will neither be billed nor disconnected by the electricity distribution company.

3. It is the customer’s right to transparent electricity billing. Unmetered customers should be issued with electricity bills strictly based on NERC’s estimated billing methodology.

4. It is the customer’s right to be notified in writing ahead of disconnection of electricity service by the electricity distribution company serving the customer in line with NERC’s guidleines.

5. It is the customer’s right to prompt investigation of complaints arising from the customer’s electricity service disruption

6. It is not the responsibility of electricity customer or community to buy, replace or repair electricity transformers, poles and related equipment used in supply of electricity.

7. It is the customer’s right to contest any electricity bill. Any unmetered customer who is disputing his or her estimated bill has the right not to pay the disputed bill, but pay only the last undisputed bill as the contested bill go through the dispute resolution process of NERC.

8. All complaints on your electricity supply and other billing issues are to be sent to your nearest business unit of the electricity company serving your premises. If your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, you can forward your complaint to the NERC Forum Office within the coverage area of your electricity distribution company. Customers also have the right to appeal the decision of the forum at the NERC headquarters in Abuja.
